Delilah

Who was Delilah in the Bible?

A person greatest accomplishments may be in helping others to accomplish great things. Likewise, a person’s greatest failure may be in preventing others from achieving greatness. Delilah played a major role in Samson’s life, but her effect was devastating. Delilah influenced Samson to betray his special calling from God. Motivated by her greed, Delilah used her persistence to wear down Samson. His infatuation with her made him a vulnerable target. Even with all his physical strength, Samson was no match for Delilah, and he paid a great price for giving it to her. Delilah is never mentioned again in the Bible. Her unfaithfulness to Samson brought ruin to him and to her people.

Are people helped by knowing you? Are they challenged to be the best they can be because of you? Even more important, does knowing you help their relationship with God? What does your demands for their time and attention tell them about who you are? Are you willing to be God’s instrument in the lives of others?

Do you allow God to guide you through your life? Do you know God? Do you know Jesus?

Are you certain that you are going to heaven? If the answer is no or your not really sure and there is something stirring inside you at this very moment to do this, then all you have to do is say a small prayer and you can be assured of your name being added to the Book of Life. Go to the prayer of salvation and pray the words out loud and believe in your heart and you will be saved.

Delilah’s story is told in Judges 16.
